18th August, 2022: Pickleball, the world’s fastest growing sport is set to bring the action to Asia as the AFP (Asia Federation of Pickleball) and Pickleball Global brings the 3rd edition of the World Pickleball Championship to Sanur, Bali from the 20th to the 24th of September, 2022.
Invented in Bainbridge Island, Washington State, USA in 1965, Pickleball takes elements of table tennis, badminton and tennis, and has become one of the most popular sports across the globe enjoyed by people of all ages. It is played on a court that is around the same size as a badminton court and can be played both indoors and outdoors.
After a successful second edition in Florida, USA, the 2022 World Pickleball Championship is set to increase the reach and popularity of the sport even more in Asia as the event will witness some of the best players in the world and promises some historic matches.
With the aim of growing the sport, Pickleball United, a vertically integrated specialised manufacturer and brand of Pickleball & Pickleball related products, has partnered with the Asian Federation of Pickleball and Pickleball Global to help improve the infrastructure of the sport. Pickleball United will be the Title Sponsors for the championship and will provide the courts and poles for the championship.
